DTF Transfer Guide: Artwork, Gang Sheets, and Pressing

Use this guide to prepare artwork, choose the right way to order custom DTF transfers, and apply your transfer with the instructions supplied for its film type. OTB Transfers prints DTF transfers for apparel brands, print shops, creators, and small businesses.

Prepare your artwork for DTF printing

• Use a high-resolution file. OTB recommends artwork at 300 DPI.
• Use a transparent background when the design should print without a background color.
• Check the full-size artwork for edges, stray pixels, and spelling before uploading.
• Accepted file types listed by OTB include PNG, TIFF, PDF, PSD, and AI. Make sure your file exports correctly before submitting.

Choose how to order DTF transfers

Build a gang sheet online

Use the DTF gang sheet builder to select a sheet size and arrange multiple designs in one layout. Review the design placement and sheet size before adding the order to your cart.

Upload a print-ready gang sheet

If your layout is already complete, use Upload Your Own DTF Gang Sheet. Select the matching sheet size and quantity, then review the file before checkout.

Order individual transfers by size

For individual graphics, choose a size on the DTF transfers by size page and upload your artwork with the order.

How to apply a DTF transfer

Use a heat press for consistent contact. Temperature, press time, pressure, and peel timing can vary by film and garment, so follow the instructions supplied with your selected transfer. Prepare the garment as directed, position the transfer, press it using those settings, and peel only when the instructions say to. If you are decorating a new fabric or running a large batch, test one item first.
